Are you looking for housing?
Kaya! We’re Noongar Mia Mia, an Aboriginal Controlled Community Housing Organisation serving First Nations people on Noongar boodja.
If you have any questions about the information below you can call us on (08) 9271 8711 or email operations@noongarmiamia.com.au
How we help
Noongar Mia Mia is a community housing provider with a difference – we’re First Nations owned and operated, and work from a place of cultural pride.
We also work to deliver culturally safe services for rough sleepers through our Moorditj Mia program.
Apply for Housing
Please be aware that we are a small organisation with a limited number of properties, so we don’t have our own waitlist.
You will need to register with the Department of Communities (Housing) and complete a Housing Options Assessment before we can become involved.
- The instructions to do this are here.
- If you know how to do this already, you’ll find the Housing Options Assessment form here [PDF].
- Please make sure to tick the box to identify you as Aboriginal/First Nations.
- Also tick Yes to “Do you also wish to be considered for a Community Housing property”.
- You can submit the completed form at your nearest Department of Communities office – find your closest one here.
- Don’t have a printer? You can print for free at most Perth Metro libraries – you can find your nearest one here.
When does Noongar Mia Mia get involved?
When we have a house available for the region/area you have been approved for and it has the appropriate number of bedrooms, we will contact the Department of Communities and request a list of applicants.
We will then contact applicants to talk about housing.
Again, because we are a small organisation with a limited number of properties we can’t say how long this will take once you have applied.
We make every effort to house and support as many First Nations applicants as we can to get into the right kind of housing.
